Dr. Cheryl Hodges, MD, ABPN
Dr. Cheryl Hodges began practicing as a General Psychiatrist in 2008. She has experience
diagnosing and treating adult patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She is a master
psychopharmacologist, which she practices in addition to individual psychotherapy. She is also trained in repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation which she practiced for six years.
Dr. Hodges is a native of Oklahoma. She completed her undergraduate degree in Radiation
Therapy Sciences at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. She
subsequently served at a radiation therapist at the North Texas V.A. Health Care System in
Dallas, Texas for five years. Dr. Hodges then returned to University to study Medicine. She
attended the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston School of Medicine
and graduated as a Medical Doctor in 2004. She then chose Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine as her specialty, and graduated from the University of Texas at Houston Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Residency Program in 2008. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Psychiatry. In addition, she completed the Neuroscience Education Institute’s Master Psychopharmacology Program.
She has spent the bulk of her professional career as an outpatient adult psychiatrist in private practice. Dr. Hodges has practiced Alaska for ten years, Texas for four years, and most recently in her home state of Oklahoma. She is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska. She provides telemedicine-based psychiatric care for individuals residing in Oklahoma, Texas and Alaska, as well as in-person appointments for those living in the greater Austin area.
